I am the Program Director for the Critical Care Medicine (Anesthesiology) fellowship program at UCSF. I this role, I interface with critical care fellows from anesthesiology, emergency medicine, pulmonology, neurology, and surgery. I truly value playing a role in the professional development of these outstanding upcoming intensivists! My current research efforts are focused on identifying and improving the specific challenges faced by women in academic anesthesiology. In the past, I've focused on improving perioperative care for the older surgical patient at risk of perioperative complications. In addition, I am engaged in academic and committee work for a number of national organizations including the American Board of Anesthesiologists, Society of Critical Care Anesthesiologists, and the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
