Angel Chen Kuo, EdD, CPNP-PC is a Clinical Professor and Vice Chair (Administration/Academic Programs) of the Department of Family Health Care Nursing in the School of Nursing. She also serves as Associate Director of UCSF Program for Interprofessional Practice and Education. Professor Kuo is a member of the Academy of Medical Educators at UCSF.

Professor Kuo has been serving on multiple HRSA training grants particularly to improve the diversity and quality of the NP workforce. Professor Kuo serves as PI for the 4-year (2023-2027) HRSA Advanced Nursing Education Workforce Grant titled: Underserved Coalition for Bay Area Advanced Practice Training (UCBAAPT). She is also on 3 additional HRSA NP Residency grants (2023-2027) to support preceptor training for clinicians in the post-graduate NP Residency program across Federally Qualified Health Centers in Northern California. She especially has an interest in clinician educator identity formation and the formation of a community of practice. She is a consistent faculty developer with the UCSF Center for Faculty Educators across multiple Teach for UCSF tracks.

Professor Kuo's clinical practice is at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital in the Pediatric Urology Clinic. She enjoys working with the interprofessional trainees in caring for children and families of SFGH, managing conditions such as phimosis, retractile testis, UTI, hydronephrosis, vesicoureteral reflux, and dysfunctional voiding/enuresis.

Professor Kuo joins the UCSF Leadership Institute in 2023 as faculty in the longitudinal Evidence-Based Practice training to nurses, nurse leaders, and interprofessional clinicians internationally in Taiwan and Hong Kong.
