Andreas Mitchell, MD, MPP

Dr. Mitchell is a general internist and primary care physician based at the Richard Fine People's Clinic (RFPC) at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG). Originally from Ellicott City, MD, he attended college at Washington University in St. Louis and medical school at Harvard University, where he concurrently obtained a master's in public policy.

He came to UCSF for internal medicine residency in the ZSFG primary care track (SFPC) and then served as the ambulatory chief resident based at ZSFG. After two years working as a primary care physician at Roots Community Health Center, Dr. Mitchell returned to UCSF and ZSFG in August 2024. He is the quality improvement (QI) lead for RFPC, and he teaches QI, advocacy, and community engagement to the internal medicine residents.
