I have previously served as a summer research intern with Partners in Health/Zanmi Lasante in Haiti, an Albert Schweitzer Fellow in community health in Boston, intern at the CMS Innovation Center, interim Director of Social Medicine within UCSF's Division of Hospital Medicine, and as a health policy research fellow at Yale School of Medicine. My research and advocacy focus on improving healthcare affordability (i.e., mitigating healthcare-related financial hardship like medical debt), Medicare policy, and designing systems of care that allow older individuals to age with dignity. I employ quantitative and qualitative research tools to investigate these topics and enjoy writing about them for both the general public and medical audiences.

My practice is grounded in the belief that health outcomes are the material manifestation of social inequalities and that health care is a human right. Medicine is therefore a vehicle for pragmatic solidarity in the fight for health equity and social justice.

In my spare time, I enjoy cooking Indian and Thai food, visiting National Parks (25 so far), reading books (100 since 2023), and collecting colorful tote bags.
