In 2002 she relocated to Fresno with her husband, also faculty at UCSF Fresno. She was initially core faculty in Pediatrics at UCSF Fresno and started her Breastfeeding Medicine Clinic and Service, originally grant funded but now self-sufficient. In 2008 she branched out to join a primary care practice in Fresno, Peachwood Pediatrics, but still remains a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics and works with the residents of Pediatrics, Family Practice, and OB-GYN in her teaching clinic "The Center for Breastfeeding Medicine" at Community Regional Medical Center. She lectures extensively to all three programs as well. Residents also rotate through her primary care practice which is a designated teaching site for UCSF Fresno Department of Pediatrics.

Dr. Evans is a Board Member for the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine and chairs two committees within that organization. In addition, she lectures around the country, publishes regularly, and is a happy, willing mentor to any resident who desires to do a project in Breastfeeding Medicine or who wants to go into Primary Care.
