Amandine Godier-Furnemont earned her undergraduate degree at Columbia University. She then completed her PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University, during which she spent two years researching at the Georg-August University of Gottingen in Germany. Her doctoral work was supported by an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship, an F31 Grant from the NHLBI and a DAAD Graduate Research Grant.

Following completion of her PhD she attended Yale Medical School, where she was the recipient of the Samuel Jordan Graham Scholarship in Academic Surgery. She has worked in several countries, driven by her interest in global health and surgery.
