This sees me with over a decade of on-the ground fieldwork experience engaging with vulnerable populations in Uganda, Burundi, Cameroon, Malawi, Liberia, Canada, and the United States, building partnerships to unpack the drivers of health inequities in order to propose actionable and sustainable solutions. My research has been funded by major private and public donors including the Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR), the Wyss Foundation, and the NIH’s National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). At UCSF I am currently the Director of Research for the Global Alliance in Nursing (GAIN) partnership and the Associate Director of the Institute for Global Health Sciences (IGHS) Masters of Science Program. I am also a member of the faculty at the UCSF School of Nursing. During my time at UCSF, I have been awarded the UCSF John L. Zeigler Award for Outstanding Mentorship, a UCSF SPOT Award and a UCSF Achievement Award. My current work with the UCSF GAIN partnership focuses on the identification and addressing of drivers of maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality both domestically and around the world.
