His research focuses on pain assessment, management, and recovery in older adults, with particular attention to how factors such as age, language, cognitive status, and communication influence clinical decisions and post-hospital outcomes. His long-term goal is to generate evidence and tools that help hospitalists provide safer, more effective, and patient-centered care.
